I love You, My Lord, and my sincere desire is to live a life that pleases You. I want You to think of me as Your “good and faithful servant.” You’ve done so much for me that I could never repay You, but I hope I can show You my appreciation by always striving to do what You ask of me. In order to be the best that I can become for You, I want to learn self-discipline, selflessness, humility, obedience, patience, endurance and self-denial. These are Your traits and they provide a pathway for living life as You did. Help me learn Your ways … how to love unconditionally … getting beyond my wants to the needs of others … and, not being ashamed to share the Good News with others. I know that in my wisdom and strength, I cannot effectively run the race that You’ve appointed for me to run. Any goal I set for myself that aims at being more like You can only be accomplished when I want it bad enough and I’m willing to make the necessary sacrifices.
As I mature, I not only want others to see You through my life, but I also want them to see what You have done to change my life for the better. Like the wind, I want to be transparent, yet effective in doing the things You request of me. Help me never see myself as better than anyone else … instead, looking to be better than I am right now. As I am renewed in Your Image, I’ll be able to do more for the furtherance of Your Kingdom. Growth requires that I develop new skills in order to live the life You have planned for me. To do so, I must learn how to navigate my life through the leading of the Holy Spirit. This new way of living requires trusting You to make my life count for something special. I believe that You are more interested in making me into the person You want me to be rather than dishing out the chastisement I deserve. When I face adversity, I believe that my faith and endurance will increase to help me prepare for the struggles ahead. With more of the Holy Spirit in my heart and Your Word in my thoughts, I will have the tools I need to be all that I can be for You.
I know that a life lived for You will produce much joy, greater fulfillment and good fruit. I have dedicated myself to emulating everything that You’ve shown me is good. I will endeavor to always consult Your Word and the Holy Spirit whenever I have decisions to make. I want You to be an active participant in every aspect of my life because, if You are, all things will work out for my good and my life will be filled with prosperity, blessings and victories. I praise and adore You, My Prince of Peace, and I promise to live my life for You. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!!
