Building Your Kingdom

Most Blessed Leader, I rejoice in the fact that You dispense many different gifts among Your people, but the Spirit administers them all … and, while there are many types of service to do for You, they are done for the glory of Your name … and, while there are many different works to be performed in Your Kingdom, there is only one King to serve.  That is why, in all of these things, You rule as Lord; but it is the Holy Spirit who acts behind the scenes to manifest Your goodness through them all.  It is by the working of the Holy Spirit that wisdom, faith, healing, prosperity and miracle working power are dispensed for the purpose of showing Your awesomeness.  While Your church is a single body, it is made up of many parts … all them functioning like the many parts of the human body.  The mind serves as the central control of the body and You are the central control of Your church.

You have been called a “living stone” … rejected by men but precious to the Father.  Through Your living sacrifice, we too have all become living stones who You are using to build Your church.  You have become the cornerstone of my life as I’ve learned to put my trust in You … as a result, You prosper me and give me favor among men.  As a believer, You have become precious to me and I’m precious to You.  In Your infinite wisdom, You’ve given each of Your servants the talents and gifts You wanted them to have to help in the building of Your church.  Your church is composed of many types of people from a variety of backgrounds with diverse abilities.  Despite all of these differences, they all have one thing in common … faith in You.  When each of us was given life, You placed within us our own set of gifts and abilities.  Your intent was that they be used to further Your Kingdom.  So I must get to work.

All believers are baptized into one body … Your church.  As individual stones, we are fit together to form a body ready for service.  In so doing, we do not lose our identity, but it is superseded by an overriding oneness in You.  When I gave my heart to You, the Holy Spirit took up residence within me and this experience brought me into relationship with Your family.  As a member of my new family, I find I have different gifts and interests, but we have a common goal … the furtherance of Your Kingdom.  The miracle of family is that, while being different, we are the same.  Now I’ve come to realize that when a seemingly insignificant part (like me) is removed, the whole is less effective.  That is why I cannot neglect my calling any longer and, instead, become a more reliable and functioning component in the building of Your Kingdom.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

I Corinthians 12:12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all of its part are many, they form one body.
