Community of Believers

O Giving Lord, I thank You for adopting me as Your own and for allowing me to be included in the family of believers.  In the same way that You left Your Holy Spirit to guide and comfort me, so have You given me a family to stand with me so I do not feel alone.  Through my identification with You, I now walk in the light and share fellowship with others who have also been cleansed by Your blood.  My connection with my brothers and sisters teach me how to … love and be loved … give and receive … teach and be taught … bear another’s burden so that, in my time of need, mine will be borne.  It is my duty to encourage, strengthen and stand with my family as they go through their ordeals.  I must not lose sight of the fact that we are all members of Your body … one for all and all for one.  As I allow Your Word to take root in my life, I know it will promote an unselfish love that will allow me to put others before myself.

I pray that believers reach out to encourage one another, draw closer for support, become generous in sharing their blessings and strive to know You better so we can all become more like You.  You have instructed us that when we pray together, agreeing on anything for which we pray, much more power is placed behind the prayer.  When we join in unity, it’s like light passing through a magnifying glass lens focusing intently on the need of the prayer.  As we begin to talk and reason together, we become one in heart and mind.  As we come together, taking counsel with the Holy Spirit, we remove ourselves from world so that we can get a Heavenly view of our circumstances.  At the center of Your heart is oneness for Your body.  That is why You call us to church each week, Bible Study and corporal works together.  As we draw closer to You, we are perfected and become transformed into a force of love.

I pray that Your family will adhere to Your teachings and become more focused on fellowshipping, praying together and bearing one another’s burdens.  When we join together to praise and honor You, there is a bond of closeness that pulls us together and makes us excited to do good for others.  In Your patience, perseverance and mercy, help us become like-minded so we can work more intently on the promoting of Your Kingdom.  Help us think the same, speak the same and act in love so that there will be no divisions among us … instead, becoming perfectly joined together with You and possessing a laser focus.  Your calling is to do good for all, but especially for those who are of the household of faith.  I acknowledge Your desire, and will do my part, to be steadfast in one spirit with Your body and possess a like-mindedness in becoming like You.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Hebrews 10:24-25 Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.  Let us not give up on meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another … and all the more as we see the Day approaching.
