Dear Lord, You’ve invited me unto a journey of faith … a pilgrimage to my place alongside You in Heaven. To make it, I need Your help in remaining faithful, abiding in You each day, resisting all forms of temptation, never losing hope in Your promises and doing the good works to which I’ve been called. Mary and Joseph made their journey to fulfill the promises of Your coming to save Your people. Help me with my journey so I too can bring You into the hearts of the many people who need a Savior. I know there will be demons stalking me along the way. Their intent is to lead me astray or cause me to stumble as I work toward the goals You’ve set before me. I do not want to lose my way … and, instead, shine forth Your light which helps lead those who would believe into a prosperous life. I believe each day offers me a chance to draw closer to You and see more clearly the course You have for me.
I trust that You will be there to foster my growth and maturity so I can complete my mission. When I become discouraged about my progress, I must remember that You do not give up on me. When I feel incomplete, undone and distressed by my shortcomings, I will check what the scriptures say about Your promise to finish the good work You’ve started in me. I understand that the good work You started takes a lifetime to complete and can only be called finished when I’m called home to be with You. My journey began on the first day I believed. Now that the Holy Spirit has come to dwell in me, I believe that He will guide my walk and help me become more like You. My journey involves growth in my faith, maturity in my outlook and putting things I know into practice. I know I should not procrastinate because the days are short and the work needing to be done is great.
By inviting You to lead my life, I’ve become a partner with You in doing what is good and helping others find their way. My goal has become to advance Your Kingdom by doing whatever I can to move it forward. I know that Your Kingdom can be advanced by my prayers, kindness to others and following Your lead. By complying with what You ask of me, my life has been filled with joy and thanksgiving. In my commitment to You, I offer my life to accomplish the things You want done. You never promised that my journey would be easy … only that You would be with me, helping me complete the trip. The completion of my journey should become a priority and I should not waste any time. While I know that everyone has a different journey to get where they are supposed to go and I have no idea where my journey will take me … I’m excited to see where it leads. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this, that the One who began a good work in You will see it to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
