O Son of God, I am so glad that I am connected to You like a branch of a tree is connected to the trunk. I am joined to You and You are joined to me in a way that defines oneness. In the same way that the trunk provides nourishment and refreshing to the branches, so do You bring Your goodness and love to me. You are the trunk that upholds me and the Holy Spirit is my gardener, trimming away my bad qualities and helping good ones flourish. I know that You will prune away unproductive traits in my life in order to promote good growth in areas that help me in becoming more like You. You never use discipline to harm me … it is meant to strengthen my faith and build character. If I fail to cooperate with You, I will be cast aside to burn in the fire of my lusts and wantonness. You will not tolerate my efforts to block You from helping me produce good fruit. The keys to a victorious life is a deep, meaningful belief in You … doing what You say … walking in Your light … and loving others as You love me.
Even though I try to do what is right, act honestly and make You proud, I’ve come to realize that the only way to live a pure life is to stay connected to You. Apart from You, attaining righteousness is a struggle and unfruitful. By receiving Your love, mercy and grace I’ve been enabled to do things I had previously thought to be impossible. As I cling to You, I know I will not miss out on any of the blessings You intend for me. As I bear fruit with my life, You are glorified and that brings me great joy. The experience of having You as an active part of my life keeps me level-headed, no matter how wide my emotions might swing. To bear good fruit, I must love You with the same fervency that You love me. If I learn to obey Your laws and respond to Your commands, I will remain in Your love and Your blessings will flow freely into my life. I must never forget I did not choose You … You chose me to bear fruit for You.
All things have their origins in You and without You nothing can exist. You are the glue that holds all the forces of nature in balance so that I, and all men, can thrive on the earth. I too need Your glue holding my life together and acting as the source of good in my life. You are the Alpha and Omega and all things start and end with You. As The Word, You acted as Your Father’s agent of creation and the source of His message of love to His people throughout the ages. Through Your visitation, You brought me the principles I would need to lead a successful life. As a living picture of His holiness, You showed me how walk in His ways and see my life changed. You are the source of love, strength, character and perseverance that courses through my being. I must never lose sight of the fact that You made me and I possess the talents You wanted me to possess. Apart from You I am nothing … but as I connect to You and acknowledge You as my source … all things are possible. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
