I thank You, My Loving Savior, for being a part of my life and assisting me in dealing with the storms in it. Whenever I find myself caught up in the furor of problems and hardship, I know I must turn to You for my solutions. My hope is that I will be a benefactor of Your Wisdom and love when I need it most. My sincerest wish is to be one with You forever. I trust that the glue of our love for one another will prevail in holding us together through good times and bad. You have shown me that I am a special and unique creation of Your hands. Now I must depend on Your faithfulness, protection and love. Help me remember that there isn’t a thing I will face that’s too large for You to help me deal with it. My hope is that when others see me they will see You shining forth in my words and actions. For the light You give removes the darkness and produces hope for the future.
Living in the present means staying away from dark and fearful thoughts the enemy tries to use to make me believe he can destroy my future. I must not fear what might happen to me tomorrow and, instead, focus on the kindness You show me today. Because of Your perpetual watchfulness, I will put aside all anxious thoughts and vain imaginations which cause me to doubt. As I focus on You, and not my circumstances, I will find myself in a position to overcome the challenges I face. I must not spoil the present with anxiety over what might come tomorrow … because most of the things I fret over never come to pass. I will stop focusing on my failures and start rejoicing over my successes like … using the gift of faith to overcome problems I am facing … seeing evil overcome by good … rejoicing at all times … and, reaping the rewards of being generous with my time, talents and resources.
I need for You to teach me how to be cheerful in whatever circumstance I find myself. I realize that I must endure suffering whether I like it or not. With You by my side, I know I can do whatever it takes to overcome my trials. I find hope and gladness in the knowledge that You love me and are dedicated to my well-being. I cannot maintain a cheerful outlook by simply ignoring problems but, instead, reminding myself that “greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world”. I believe that the sum of my efforts plus trusting in You will produce solutions to the difficulties I encounter. As I walk by faith, I know that I will become victorious because the struggles I face are meant to draw me closer to You. As I find myself counting on You more and more, I trust that the plans You have for me will assure me of victory as I remain steadfast in my faith in You. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
