My Fearless Lord, when I am afraid, I turn to You for help. For I have learned that by trusting You, all of my needs have been met and You’ve protected me from harm. So why then should I fear? Like a Good Shepherd, You lead me through life’s successes and disasters. Because You have gotten me through many trials and difficulties, I will no longer become apprehensive when facing difficulties. Like a hen covers her chicks with her wings to protect them, so do You cover me with Your tender love. In my darkest times when the arrows of my enemies try to pierce my heart, I know I can count on Your being there for me. I am confident that I will not be shaken if I place my trust in You. You are my Sure Rock and the Strong Foundation on which I stand against the storms in my life. Neither bad news … nor impending doom … nor betrayal by those I trust … will cause me to waver in my belief in You .
In You I feel secure because You are faithful in all that You say or do. Whenever I cry out, I know that You will hear me and come to my aid. I continually find myself asking “if God be for me, who can be against me?” You are my Helper and You enable me to overcome the difficulties that fill my life. The only one I should fear is You … and, the only reason I tremble is because I am in awe of all You are and all You can do. Though death circles around me and the winds of destruction come upon me, I will not be overwhelmed because You go before me. You alone have the power to restore my soul and lead me into paths of righteousness. And even though I walk through scary circumstances with unknown outcomes, I will fear no evil because You are with me. It is satisfying to sense Your love, goodness and mercy following me wherever I go.
Since You are my Light and Salvation, I am comforted and fear keeps its distance from me. You are my fortress and the glue that holds everything together when they all seem to be falling apart around me. I am confident that when my enemies come against me that You will cause them to stumble and fall into a pit. No matter how chaotic my life becomes … or how threatening the storms of my life may seem … or how strong the forces of evil who come against me … I will remain confident in Your ability to deliver me from them all. You, Lord, are my Refuge and ever present Helper in times of trouble. The heavens declare Your glory and the earth proclaims Your handy work. You are good … Your steadfast love endures forever … and, Your faithfulness is beyond reproach. Therefore, I believe You will help me each time that I must deal with fear. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
