My Victorious King, when I think about being delivered, I envision being set free from restraints, being released from bondage, being rescued from a bad situation and being liberated. What You did was all of that and they are all personal to me. Your Word tells me that You rescued me from the dominion of darkness and brought me into Your Kingdom of light … safe and on time!! Your deliverance gives me the chance to experience sharing in Your inheritance, slipping my shackles, becoming a part of something bigger than me and being filled with Your power. As a believer, I revel in being transferred to a place where light prevails over darkness … freedom over slavery … forgiveness over guilt … and the power of good replaces the power of evil. I’ve been rescued from a rebellious, rogue Kingdom to serve my rightful King. My conduct must reflect my appreciation and allegiance to You as my liberator.
Like a bandit, I was a man with a price on my head. The cumulative effect of all of my missteps was too great for me to ransom myself. I needed someone to step up and pay my tab. Your Word tells me that You “redeemed me from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for me.” The reason such an unselfish act was required was because the law could not justify me nor save me from my sins … it only could condemn. It is powerless to reverse the condemnation. As a result, You took the curse of the law (eternal death) upon Yourself so I could be free from it. It is no longer acceptable to say “I will do better next time” or “I won’t do it again” unless I mean it. The only way that I can walk as one who has been redeemed is by trusting You … believing that You’ve made provision to settle my overdue account … and living each day in Your power. In doing these things, I can break the cycle of sin and failure in my life.
Just as I asked You to come live in me, I must continue living in You. I do that by following Your lead, submitting to Your will, seeking to learn from You and acknowledging the power of the Holy Spirit to help me. I must become rooted and built up in You. Like a plant that takes root and draws its nourishment from the soil, I must draw from You the things that help me mature and grow in faith. The more I draw from You, the less I will draw on the things that are detrimental to my spiritual and natural well-being. You caution me not to be taken captive again by the deceptive tactics of my enemies and the philosophies that depend on human logic and worldly principles. In You, I’ve been given access to all the things that will help me put off my sinful nature. I have every tool I need to live a righteous life and it’s only through You that I am Delivered and Redeemed. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!!
Colossians 1:13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming the curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”
