Discovering the Truth

My Beloved Teacher, truth is frequently discussed by the world, but seldom practiced.  People ignore or conceal facts and use words to manipulate others.  Words with twisted meanings and taken out of context find their way into everyday life.  The antithesis of what You represent is found in lying and self-centeredness.  All who pledge themselves to You must be committed to following truth (wherever it takes us) and living by it.  Truth is vital to my being a Christian and is inseparable from the way I lead my life.  To be a faithful servant, I must learn Your truth, obey what it asks of me and watch keenly for the deceptions of my enemy as he tries to twist everything You say.  To know truth (and experience its offshoot faith), I must listen to what You have to say and then put it into action.  If I align myself to Your will and listen carefully to what You say, I will know the truth and it will set me free.

When I seek truth outside of You, I am like a horse with a bit in its mouth who can be directed wherever the one who controls the reins wants me to go.  Your Word is like a field with buried treasure (Your truth) scattered throughout it, and if I diligently search for the truth, I will find it and become rich in knowledge.  Without Your truth embedded in me, I am like a ship without a rudder.  I’m blown about and tossed to and fro by every word formed to lead me away from following You.  Your truth is my guiding light to a better way and prosperity.  It is the solid foundation upon which I build my life to withstand the winds of circumstances that come to destroy it.  Your truth provides me with the knowledge I need to make good decisions.  It is the key that opens the door to prosperity and an overcoming life.

You are the very essence of truth.  You do not lie … You share with me the good things that make my life better … and You show me the road to hope and fulfillment.  In the truth that You share, there is no error, misrepresentations or falsehood.  You dispense it so I can gain insights that help me discern between what is superficial and what is real.  To find truth, I must seek it diligently, rigidly adhere to what it says and become a doer … not just a hearer… out of respect for You.  So often the world holds up truth that is not backed by anything more than a theory, but Your Word is real and confirms itself to those who believe it.  Your truth is eternal and as You have stated “the world will pass away, but Your words will not.”  While men try to hide Your truth, You expose it to light so that I can know Your truth and conform myself to it.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Psalm 25:4-5 Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths; guide me in truth and teach me for You are my God, My Savior, and my hope is in You all day long.
