Most Knowledgeable Savior, help me never forget that trials and struggles, whether temporary or longer term, do not destroy Your purpose for my life. You have given me life to love, honor and serve You … not to allow myself to lose hope and become paralyzed with fear. Your advice for me is to not be overwhelmed nor lose my perspective when fear comes to unsettle my life. The comfort that causes me to remain calm is Your assurance that “nothing can separate me from Your love.” Satan’s ploy is to get me to doubt, but You encourage me to build trust and a stronger relationship with You in order to seal him out. If I devote my heart to You, I will be able to stand my ground and mount a defense. My life becomes brighter with You in it and the dark clouds on the horizon disappear. I feel safe and protected when I am securely nestled in Your arms.
When distress and anguish fill me with hopelessness and distress, I must count on You, as My Redeemer, to free me from their grasp. Your light and salvation are the things that have shown me the way to freedom. You have committed to stand with me in all things, so why should I fear? When fear and worry move in to try to take control of my life, I will put my trust in You because You have shown Yourself to be faithful time after time. You alone are the refuge to whom I will flee when fear presses in. My faith in You is the covering that gets me through episodes of anxiety and fear. I must make a conscious decision to trade in my fear for faith if I am to persevere and prevail. Fear is the dense fog that the enemy uses to engulf me and thwart my attempts to run to You. Through entrusting myself to You and pledging my daily devotion to You, I can count on Your showing me a way of escape.
In my repentance, Your justice is satisfied and You can come to me to encourage and comfort me. If I truly trust You, my faith reassures me that … You are My Defense and nothing gets past You … Your peace is my antidote for my worry and concern … and, You are The One who leads me out of my feeling of distress. Drawing close to You is a sure way to calm my fears. Your presence brings peace and a sense of well-being. I must never struggle with fear on my own, instead, seek Your help. Going it alone never brings me the answers I seek. In times of uncertainty and fear, You alone provide me with a peace that I cannot describe and solutions that I need. Fear and worry seem to always be lurking around looking for opportunities to invade my life and separate me from You. However, in the light of Your truth, I am reminded “do not be afraid.” And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Matthew 14:27 Take courage. It is I … do not be afraid.
