Most Patient Lord, when things are not going my way and I turn to You in prayer, help me remain patient … waiting for Your reply. Like most people, I’m impatient and want my answer right away. I strain to see any hint of progress in resolving my problem. I must constantly remind myself that because I do not see You working doesn’t mean you aren’t. Therefore, I shouldn’t throw away my confidence because I’ll lose the results that I am seeking. I need to persevere so that as I continue to believe, You will grant what You promised. When facing troubles, I think about Your children at Jericho who marched around their obstacle for days without seeing or understanding Your purpose. However, by proceeding until the 7th day … with a mighty shout and a blast of trumpets, they saw the walls come tumbling down. Had they stopped saying, “This is ridiculous,” they wouldn’t have received a blessing.
Help me not give up when I ask for a favor and do not see my answer right away. Give me the strength and faith to press on and press through my time of waiting. I do not want to grow weary from my struggle and miss my blessing because I gave up. I don’t want to stop too soon. Your Word tells me that Your ways are not my ways and my thinking is not Your thinking. Sometimes I have to be willing to look ridiculous to live a remarkable life. The choices that I make when You are nudging me often become the hinge upon which my destiny swings. Even though my struggle seems like a mountain too high to climb, it doesn’t mean I should give up. After all, the impossible is made possible through You. What I need to do is man up, suit up and step up. You expect me to act in faith before You act in response to it. My obedience is the thing You want the most from me.
I know that there will be times when I’ve done everything I know to do and I don’t see any movement in the resolution of my problem. What I must do is stand by faith … because faith is the substance of what I ask for and is my only evidence that my problem will go away. In Your Word, You encourage me to stand against evil and the struggles I face in my life. In order to stand, I must draw on Your strength and faithfulness to hold my ground. I must fill my mind with Your truth and promise to stand with me in all things. I need to trust You like never before … calling to mind all of the times You’ve come through for me. I cannot settle for mediocrity. I must be bold and not settle for anything less than what You intend for me. My trials have been designed to build my faith and spiritual stamina. It is never a good time to give up on the training You’ve planned for me in the gym of life. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
