I give praise to You, O Lord, for the many gifts You have given to Your servant who is not worthy of Your kindness. Each of my days begins with the blessing of a morning filled with a light that allows me to see my path forward. My days are filled with laughter to share and work to be done. With a song in my heart and the scent of flowers in my nostrils, I feel glad to be alive. I treasure my ability to touch someone with Your love and be touched by the love of another. You have given me Your favor and the ability to come to You in daily prayer to express my longings, needs and requests. As I navigate my day, I sense the power of my faith in You pushing aside obstacles from my path. In times of trouble, I can feel You standing with me and encouraging me to stand on Your Word and patiently persevere until every problem has been subdued.
Your promises fill my day with hope and provide the means to be victorious in the things that really matter. Your provisions for healing … help in times of need … and, meeting my daily requirements … fill my life with goodness. Your best gift has been the gift of Yourself and with the assurance that Your love is bigger than any problem I face and my place with You in Heaven is assured. I know that as I walk with You each day, You fill it with love, blessings and joy which You’ve given freely out of a deep and abiding affection for me. Having You in my day prevents the appearance of darkness and confusion. The gift of the Holy Spirit keeps me on track, focuses my attention on important things and shows me how to walk by faith. As my day draws to a close, I sense Your presence and protection. As I lay my head down to sleep, I feel safe and at peace.
So why do I find myself fearful and apprehensive sometimes? It must be because I’ve taken my eyes off of You or I’ve allowed circumstances and setbacks to steal my joy. Then what should I do to restore my confidence? I believe it will return when I call to mind all of the things You have done to enrich and improve my life … or, I reflect on the peace and safety I feel when I am connected to You. All of these things act as a magnet drawing me back to You. Because of Your faithfulness and kindnesses, my life abounds with blessings and the promise that all things will work out well as I build my life on the foundation of Your love and a sincere desire to live in accordance with Your Word. As I live out my life, I’ve come to recognize that each day is a gift from You that should not be squandered or taken for granted. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
