Faith of My Father

Each day I give thanks to You, My Lord, for Your presence in my life.  You picked me … You gave me a name … You gave me a purpose … and, You gave me a measure of faith that would allow me to follow in Your footsteps.  In all of my ways, You’ve never once forgotten me … You do not hide in my times of trouble nor do You forsake me when I have needs … and, You are not deaf to my cries for help.  Both You and Your Word have been faithful to me.  You are not a man that You should lie, so if You say You will do something, it is done.  When You speak, all of creation obeys.  You are worthy of praise because there is no one like You showing me … Your mighty deeds … Your abundant love … Your awesome capacity to forgive.  Through various signs and wonders You make me believe that I am an heir of Your promises.  I know my life will be lived in victory if I remain on guard for the attacks of my enemies … stand firm in my faith … and, remain strong and courageous in my resolve.

Open my heart to receive Your Word and the working of the Holy Spirit.  For without them, I cannot please You.  In order to draw closer to You, I must believe in You and that You will reward my obedience.  Help me understand that Your Word is Your testimony regarding how much You love me and want me to prosper.  Thank You for the reassurance that even impossible things are made possible when I believe.  I know that it is my responsibility to grow the “seed of faith” You’ve placed within me.  Like a farmer, I must water it with Your Word … place it under the light of the Holy Spirit’s revelations … and, fertilize it with daily prayer.  The fruit that it produces will be the power and determination that enable me to cast my problems into the sea.

I know that through my belief in You, I will be shown the way to faithfulness.  My trust in You allows me to be transformed into Your likeness.  As I submit to the guidance of the Holy spirit, He prepares me for my role as a warrior of the cross.  As I remain loyal to You, I will be infused with confidence to persevere and the strength to overcome.  Because faith in You is a good thing … it inspires me to do good.  Faith is my doorway to Your wisdom.  Through faith, You enable me to see my way more clearly and make better choices.  You had confidence in me when You gave me a free will … I can show that You were not wrong by submitting to You.  I will strive to keep my heart and mind open so that you can show me how to become the stature of the man You want me to become.  The most prized gift that emanates from the faith of my Father is my power to overcome sin, eternal death, circumstances and the weaknesses of my flesh.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Romans 12:3 Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
