Faithful Until Very The End

O Living God, You mean the world to me.  Your love and acceptance is the very core of who I am.  I treasure our relationship because You’ve given so much of Yourself to make it work.  You have shown Yourself faithful in innumerable ways while I struggle to be faithful in only a few.  Show me how to draw closer to You and cooperate with You in producing good fruit with my life.  I am sorry for the times I trip and stumble from even the slightest push by my enemy.  I feel like an “easy mark” sometimes and I ask that You give me the will and show me the way to courageously withstand the wiles of my enemies and the weaknesses of my flesh.  You generously gave up so much for my freedom, so help me arise and do good to honor Your sacrifices.  I have to accept the fact that, just as in life, I am not entitled to anything.  Rather, by hard work and patient perseverance, I will inherit the blessings of Your Kingdom.  While I cannot be saved by my works, surely You have saved me to carry them out in Your name.

Help me get beyond myself so that I will be able to offer You unselfish service.  To do that, I need to get out of my comfort zone.  I must be willing to sacrifice in order to gain the crown that comes from running my race successfully.  I am thankful for Your assurance that You will never let me be tested beyond what I am capable of dealing with … whether spiritually, physically or materially.  Your desire is to see me grow … by becoming planted in the nourishing soil of Your Word … basking in in the light revealed from Your great wisdom … and, being watered in the refreshing and renewing of the Holy Spirit.  I want to become rooted and grounded in Your precepts so I can be shaped by them into Your image and likeness.  Set me free from the shackles of selfishness, thoughtlessness and insensitivity.  Remove from me the yoke of a fallen man so that I can walk in the liberty You won for me on Calvary.  May Your death and resurrection be a banner over me reminding me of Your unconditional love.

I am constantly reminded that I must submit my flesh and will to You as an offering for all that You’ve done for me.  I must never become complacent in showing You my appreciation.  I promise to never pull back when You chasten me knowing that You correct those You love.  I will endeavor to make time with You daily to sit at Your feet and learn from You.  Send me Your Holy Spirit to be my tutor so that I can become wiser and more prudent with the blessings You have given to me.  Help me never take for granted any gift that You give, but in all things be grateful and thankful.  Give me the courage and fortitude to never turn back to the easy ways of the road to Hell and help me take on the daunting challenge of a righteous life surrendered to You.  In the same way that You’ve been faithful to the very end, help me do the same for You.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is a faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generation of those who love Him and keep His commands.
