My Eternal God, I am so glad that You said to the captives “Come out” and to those in darkness You said “Be free”. You offer the gift of freedom to everyone who will accept it. In Your visitation on earth, You showed me the standard of what is right and just. You freed me from the eternal consequences of my sins … my own self-deceptions … and the power of my enemies to beguile me. Your path was straight forward and unwavering and Your message, concerning eternal life, was clear and direct. You did not come to free me to do whatever I wanted, but to give me the freedom to follow you … avoiding the traps and shackles that would hold me back from becoming the person You intended. As I seek more of You, I am actually seeking the power that will enable me to be all that I can be for You. Your words continually unveil truths that will enlighten me and show me my way forward.
In Your great wisdom, You understood that sin has a way of enslaving, controlling and dominating me and dictating my actions. This is why I need to be set free from the forces that dictate how my life will go when it is not subject to You. The freedom You offer releases me from a slavery that holds me back from submitting to You and doing the things that lead to prosperity, contentment and safety. Your power … released when I accepted You as My Lord … breaks the hold, mastery and enslavement that sin held over me. Through Your Word, You make Your purposes clear to me and show me how to live uprightly. Because of the effects of sin I became weak, but You came to give me strength … I was poor and oppressed, but You came to bring me the richness of Your blessings … I was needy, but You came to be my supply … I knew nothing, understood nothing and walked in darkness, but You came to shine a light into my life so I could distinguish the truth and how I to walk in it.
I am overjoyed in the knowledge that You are always watching to insure that your promises are fulfilled. Because of Your love and concern for me, I believe that You hear my pleadings and, as a result, I am confident and emboldened. As a free man, I have the assurance that if I ask anything, in accordance with Your will, it will be given to me. I have come to know that when I believe what Your Word tells me … it will not return void … it will accomplish what You send it to do … and Your purpose and intent will always be achieved. Because You’ve set me free to obey and follow You, my heart cries out, “Kingdom of God, Come and Will of God, Be Done.” As a result of Your work, I can now go out with joy and be led forth in peace. Through Your love and faithfulness, I know that I’ve been set free and I am free indeed. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
