Dear Loving Lord, Your works are awesome and there is none like You. I feel safe knowing that You are my strong line of defense. You are the Rock and Fortress in whom I take refuge. I know that You will protect me through life’s many trials if I remain faithful to You. As I seek You and come to know You better, my natural reaction is to say “Lord, may You be exalted” and “Let Your greatness be magnified.” As I stand with You, I know that You will deliver me from evil and keep me from harm. Because of my love for You, I detest evil and shun it when it tries to lead me astray. Evidence of Your love for me can be seen in Your attentiveness to my cries and supplications. The words You speak are more precious to me than silver and gold and lead to everlasting life. You show me mercy and dispense grace as I follow You each day. When I rely on You, my peace is enlarged and I find rest in the midst of my troubles.
You are the source of my strength, O Lord, and it is Your strong right arm that upholds me. I praise You openly for all You’ve done to rescue me from trouble and save me from disaster. Because You are faithful in all of Your ways, I will give testimony of Your awesomeness to everyone I meet so that, they too, will come to know You as I do. My heart rejoices as I contemplate just how great and mighty You are. I know that I can count on You to get me through my hard times and show me the way to the good life you intended when You brought me into this world. Because You stand with me in all things and lend a hand when I have needs, I will bless Your name forever. When I call out Your name, You respond … when I am in distress, You come to my rescue … and, when I do not deserve it, You shower me with mercy and grace.
I am so thankful for all of the things You have taught me about life and how to deal with it. Things like: love does not mean taking, but giving … friendship is not for using, but cherishing … accepting life’s defeats does not make me a loser, if I learn from them … building roads for my life today even though the terrain of tomorrow is unknown … learning to plant good seed and watching so weeds do not take over … enduring the toughest of times in Your strength, not mine … and, understanding that I have worth because everything You make has worth. In homage to You, I submit to Your wishes … honor You with my life … and, cherish You as my King and Redeemer. In the same way a parent shows understanding and compassion to a child, so do You show the same to me. I admit, there are a lot of things I do not know, but this I do know … You are God Almighty! And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
