O Morning Star, I thank You for coming to rescue me from myself, the enemy of my soul and the entrapments of the world. Through Your birth, I have been released from the hold of sin and death has lost its sting. I now walk among the living rather than slumbering with those who are dead in sin. As I reflect on Your coming as a tiny infant, who came to save the world, I am reminded that every life does truly matter. And, the star that shined above Your birth place, speaks to the light You came to share so that I would no longer have to live in darkness. Your Mother is a glowing example of submission and obedience which lead her to a miraculous conception and the birth of the One who would bring peace on earth and a future filled with promise. From Joseph’s trust came the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen before. Through Your wondrous birth, sadness and sorrow have been replaced with joy … depression and hopelessness have succumbed to Your awesome power … worry and doubt have been supplanted by faith and hope … and, good will to all is a message that resounds throughout the earth.
How blessed I am to have heard the Good News of peace, glad tidings and salvation. As I go about my day, I listen for Your voice to lead me in paths of righteousness. You are my Comforter and the One who has redeemed me from sorrow and hopelessness. You give me strength when I am weak and You bring calmness in the midst of my storms. You have come into my life to separate me from evil and cultivate good. Fear is gone from my life because You have promised me safety. You came into the world to teach me selflessness and service. You have delivered me from darkness and brought me into the light so I could experience Your majesty and beauty. My desire is bask in Your love and mercy all of my days.
I marvel in the fact that, as the personification of the Word, You became flesh in order to dwell among Your own. Within You was true “life” and that life gave light as to who You are. Your love shined into the darkness, so I would never have to experience it again. You came to give a testimony regarding Your power to change hearts and show the way to a prosperous life. In the same way that we were born of natural mothers, You came to give a “new birth” that leads to eternal life. You hand-picked me to come into the world in order to know, love and serve You … and, I gladly accept Your invitation. Because of Your mercy and grace, I have received blessings I know I did not earn. I feel comforted in knowing that You have come among us in order to give hope and life. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten son) full of grace and truth.
