Good and upright are You, O Lord, for You instruct me in the way I am to go. As I humble myself, You guide me and teach me what is right. Help me stay on course when I am pulled in many directions so that I am not led astray. I accept Your invitation to come to You and experience Your goodness. Your invitation seems to say “try this … I know you will like it.” As I take steps of obedience which guide me in following You, I can’t help but realize how good and kind You are. In my daily walk with You, I am finding out how truly good You are to me. As I place my trust in You and go about doing good, I believe You will care for all of my needs and give me safety. Because I have chosen to turn from evil, I will gain favor in Your sight. In committing to do what is right and just, I know You will not forsake me nor be far from my side.
When I cry out to You, You turn to me with feelings of love and concern. When I find myself beaten down and my loyalty to You is wavering … when I want to give up and stop trusting You … have compassion on my weakness and send Your Spirit to comfort and restore me. I know that, if I let myself drift from You, I will surely perish. However, if I remain close to You, I will thrive and be safe. I take much consolation in knowing You are a God of loving kindness who will not withhold any good thing from me if I persevere in walking blamelessly before You. As My Savior, You are caring and kind … abounding in love for me … as I remain faithful to You in all of my ways. When troubles come to harass me, You deliver me from them all. As I recall Your many blessings, I am filled with gratitude. In the abundance of Your loving mercy, I find myself more positive, generous, kind and caring.
As an expression of Your goodness, You have redeemed me from the power of evil in my flesh and the world around me. In Your love, You have flooded my life with prosperity, hope and fellowship. Keep me close to Your heart and hold my hand when troubles come to trash my life. Because of Your kindness, I know You will always be generous toward me … keep me from being shaken when I face adversity … and, strengthen me when fear comes to steal my peace. Teach me knowledge and good judgement from Your Word. I know that I will begin emulating Your traits when I follow the guidance contained in Your Word and comply with the instructions of the Holy Spirit. Because I walk in Your ways, I find favor with You. You even challenge me to test whether You are good, reliable and trustworthy. But, I do not need to do that because I know that My God is good. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
