Praise the Lord, o my soul, praise His Holy Name. Praise the Lord, O my soul and forget not His benefits. You forgive my sins and heal my sicknesses. You are enthroned forever and receive my praise with gladness. You hear my cries and are moved by compassion to come to my aid. You hear my groaning and soothe my pains. All those who do evil fear Your Name, but I revere it. My life bears the scars done by the passage of time and my own mistakes, but I trust that You will make it whole. Everything in this world perishes, but You remain forever. Everything in life changes, but You will always remain the same. I pray that You will allow me to live in Your presence forever.
O Precious Lord, I know that You never lose sight of me nor do Your thoughts drift far from me. You have redeemed my life and that makes me feel precious in Your sight. Your desire is for me to experience Your unconditional love. And, in that love, You want to satisfy the desires of my heart and strengthen me for the trials in the days to come. By Your grace, You’ve been able to instill righteousness and character in my life. You have made known Your ways to me and invited me to join with You in an intimate relationship. I am thankful that You are kind, slow to anger and abounding in love for me. You never treat me in the manner that my sins deserve … nor do You require me to repay in accordance with the seriousness of my sins. I know that Your heart is as big as the universe and Your desire is to share the abundance of all You have with me because I answered Your call. You know me well, My King, and You know that I am weak, but You see my potential and offer help in my efforts to attain it.
I know that my days here have been numbered and You want me to flourish here and follow You into eternity. What sustains me the most is the knowledge of Your deep and abiding love for me. You showed it to me when You died on the cross to save me from my sins. You have established Your throne forever and You have invited me to sit at Your banqueting table. You are awesome and robed in splendor and majesty. In my life You’ve become My Deliverer … My Refuge from the storms … My Advocate when I stumble and fall … and, My Hope when all seems lost. Be with me each day, holding my hand, speaking words of comfort and protecting me from those who would do harm. Help me be attentive for the attacks of my enemies throughout the day and give me rest under Your watchful eyes in the night. Show me how to love large like You do. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
