My Loving God, I know that You have a plan for my life … plans to prosper me and not do harm … plans that give me hope and a vision of a bright future. Because of Your abundant love, I know that Your ears are attentive to my prayers and Your desire is for me to be more open with You. I trust that wherever I go, You will be there with me and, if I lose my way, You will search for me until I am found. I have confidence that whenever I grow weary from life’s burdens weighing me down, I can come to You and You will take up my burdens and give me rest. You have asked me to follow You and learn from Your ways because You are a caring God who has aspirations for me. If I am truly submitted to You, my responses to Your call should come easy and the work I do will be done with gladness. And when evil comes to lead me astray … I believe that, through my relationship with You, I will be able to stand my ground.
I know that as I draw closer to You, You will make it clear to me the way I should go. Help me to always be vigilant for Your guidance and attentive to Your instruction. Through Your grace, I will be given the opportunities to show You my obedience. I accept Your plan for my life the way an ox accepts the yoke his master places on him. And I will strive to obey Your every command because I know that in loving kindness You will stand with me in everything I face. My acceptance of Your will for my life is the beginning of the empowerment You give so that I can live a righteous life. In Your All-Knowing Wisdom, You see my need for a teacher … so You’ve given me the Holy Spirit … to guide me in successfully navigating life’s ups and downs. I eagerly look forward to being taught the things You want me to know and do.
I know that in my daily struggles with circumstances and problems … You will be there for me. You will hear my groaning … invite me to trust You … and, direct me to a positive outcome. When times are difficult, help me debunk my confusion and feelings of helplessness. I must never be too afraid to reach out to You for help. Open my heart to accept and receive with gladness the companionship of the Holy Spirit. Show me how to achieve the faith and courage it will take for me to hear what You have to say and do it. I want to be able to trust Your commands and have no reservations about obeying them. I know that when I am able to do this, my burdens will become lighter … my sorrow will be turned to joy … and, I will find a place to rest. O Benevolent and Merciful God, hold me tight and never let me go. I am Yours and I’ll always strive to live in Your Will. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
