Growing in Godly Wisdom

The foundation and beginning of true wisdom can only be found in You, My Lord.  It is not the mere study and accumulation of Your words in my mind that makes me wise, but it’s the “fear of the Lord” that produces the roots from which to grow a healthy spiritual life.  Without a deep respect and trust in Your Lordship, love and redemptive power, I cannot put Your Wisdom to work in my life.  There is no other foundation upon which I can build my life but You.  And because of Your immense love, You have not withheld Your Wisdom from me … rather, You have said “if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of me.”  I will know that I am walking in Godly Wisdom when what I say and do express Your humility, selflessness, and compassion.  I have come to recognize the traits of Your Wisdom in purity, gentleness, fairness, mercy along with good works, helpfulness, humility and sincerity.

In seeking Your Wisdom for my life, I must first be able to answer the question … whom do I know?  For Godly Wisdom is not the product of what I know, but who I know.  Paul surely understood this when he said “I know in whom I believe” … can I say the same thing with surety?  For if I do, a door opens to Your vast treasure chest of principles and solutions by which I am to lead a pure and prosperous life.  For me to grow in Your Wisdom, I must be able to act in the way you described when You said “my sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me.”  I then must certainly ask myself … do I possess the faith and trust in You that is required to delve into Your Wisdom?  I know that as I give myself to You … Your Holy Spirit will open lines of communication with my spirit so I can be taught what You know.  There are many things that I need to learn before I can be complete in You.  Open my heart to love You more.

Through Your gift of Godly Wisdom, I’ve been transported from the realm of darkness into Your marvelous light.  As Your truths are illuminated within me, I can more clearly see Your path toward a righteous, abundant and productive life.  Unless I remain connected to You, that light will be extinguished and the wonders You can do in my life will be diminished.  Your purpose for my life becomes more evident as I move closer to You and I’m able to draw from the well of Your knowledge.  Your desire, from the beginning, has been to give me a life filled with abundance.  Only when I am able to comprehend the things that surpass my human understanding will they become possible.  As I pursue a deeper relationship with You, I will be enabled to grow in Godly Wisdom to the point where I am able to deal with whatever difficulties come my way.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed any longer to the patterns of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of Your mind.
