O Glorious Son of God, You have told me that when the fiery darts of the enemy or the struggles of life come to test me, I shouldn’t be surprised. Instead, I should see my sufferings as a connection to Your sufferings and rejoice because You overcame Yours and promised I would too. As a result, I must learn to adapt to the adage that “when the going gets tough, the tough get going.” From my experience, I know that persevering and succeeding are tough but rewarding when the battle is finally won. Since I live in the world, I will from time to time get my “clock cleaned” … but so will many others. Trouble visits everyone but, when it does, You are always there to rescue me. And I am comforted in the knowledge that whatever form trouble takes, You can handle it. Even in my darkest times, You have been there to deliver and protect me. If I become worried, You reassure and comfort me. When I am weary and heavy of heart, You are faithful to lift my spirits and minister to my needs.
I know that whenever I have concerns about my life, I can come to You in prayer … and, You will answer me from Your throne. That is why I acknowledge You as My Shepherd because You care for me and protect me from danger. In Your might, You stand ready and willing to fill my life with the power required to keep it moving in the right direction. What I must learn to submit to is the fact that, in Your time and according to Your plan for me, You will act to fix whatever is broken. I know that there have been times when I thought I could not make it, but You knew what I could stand and You let me pull my weight as long as I could and then You lifted it and carried it for me. I am so thankful for Your outstretched hand and I gladly accept Your help when You offer it.
Lessons along the way have taught me that when I cry out to You for help … You hear my cries and come quickly to my aid. I know that whether I pass through high water, walk through fire or wrestle with problems, You will do whatever it takes to help me get through them. Because I am Yours, You have made me an overcomer through my faith in You. My life will always be changed at the place/time I bring my needs to You. The only way for me to develop strong faith is to endure great trials. I learn faith by standing firmly on Your Word until the test is over. As I learn to trust You with child-like faith, no trouble will be able to prevail against me. I am convinced that adversity is Your tool for advancing my spiritual life. The circumstances and events I see as setbacks are often the things that launch me into periods of spiritual growth. As I face impossible odds, I will remind myself of Your limitless power and my ability to draw on Your help to get me through my difficulties. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
