Most Faithful Lord, through Your thoughtful guidance and the illuminations of the Holy Spirit, I have come to believe in Your truths that lead to a full and prosperous life. I believe that You will never abandon me knowing that in time I will change my ways to conform to Yours. I also believe that, no matter how hard I try, I’m going to hurt You and, in Your mercy, You will not hold any grudges and will forgive me as I repent. I’ve come to realize that a true relationship with You grows best when I’m willing to listen and obey. I know that I cannot be changed overnight … it will take some time … but, I’m committed to making the changes I need to make. Help me learn to love You unconditionally and, in so doing, enable me to share my love with others more openly.
I believe that I can keep going long after I think I can’t. With Your strength and urging to persevere, I know I can do the things I never thought were possible. I have come to realize that I am responsible for what I do, no matter how I feel. And, there will be an accounting before Your throne for all that I have said and done. I know I cannot keep blaming the Devil for everything I do that violates Your laws because You have given me a free will to use in making my choices. I believe that “true heroes” are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done. Help me shun fear and selfishness in order to do the heroic things You did while You were on earth. I’ve come to understand that sometimes the people I expect to kick me when I’m down will be the ones who actually help lift me back to my feet. That’s why You caution me to “judge not that you be not judged.”
I now see that maturity has a lot more to do with my experiences with You and what I do with what I’ve learned. I’ve come to believe that true forgiveness is not only achieved through forgiving others, but learning to forgive myself. While my background and experiences have influenced who I am … I am responsible for whom I become. I can accept the fact that two people can look at the same thing and see something totally different. However with You, I must see eye to eye. I believe that unforeseen events can change my life forever … and I’m anxiously waiting to see what You will do for me next. And, when I think I’ve called on You too many times, all I have to do is cry out and You will faithfully come to my aid. I know that I can never find true happiness until I believe and act on the things You teach about life and obedience. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Psalms 119:66 Teach me knowledge and good judgement for I believe Your commands.
