I Have A Testimony For The Lord

All-Knowing and All-Powerful God, Your exploits are known among men and Your unconditional love is seen through the creation.  For You have made everything beautiful … with a purpose to bring about joy and fulfillment.  You loved me so much that You laid down Your life so that mine could be redeemed … it was You who bore stripes upon Your body so that I could have good health … it was You who left the safety of Heaven so that I could have entry … it was You who grappled with hopelessness so I could find a way to become hopeful … it was You who became poor so that I could be rich in blessings … and when my faith is weak, it is You who came as The Living Word to show me how to persevere.  When my strength is sapped from the struggles of daily life … it is You who sent me Your joy to revive and fortify me.  When darkness overshadows me … it is You who sent me Your light (through the working of the Holy Spirit) so I could distinguish between good and evil.

Help me Lord, to resist the temptation to go my own way and do my own thing, apart from You.  For You have given me the power to resist sin and have shown me that You will stand with me so I can hold my ground against the enemy.  I am filled with sorrow each time I think about the fact that it was my sins that contributed to Your suffering and death upon the cross.  As the Author of Life, You willingly paid the price for my mistakes and oversights.  And, because of Your loving sacrifice, I am able to walk freely without condemnation or guilt … and, as a result, my sins are forgiven, the slate is clean and I start over again filled with Your goodness.  The reward, which You now share with me, is that I too will be raised from the dead in a triumphant victory over sin and the grave.  I know that is only through my faith in You that I am able to gain the gift of eternal life.  In that gift, You have made me stronger and enabled me to make better choices between good and evil.

Dear Beloved Savior, I know that it is not Your will for me to sin … however, if I do slip and fall, I am confident that You will be my Advocate before the Father.  For through Your suffering and death, You have earned an exalted place at the right hand of Your Father to forever be exalted above all men.  Through Your act of obedience, You have given me an example for my life.  And through the teachings and guidance of the Holy Spirit, I’ve been enabled to both understand and walk in Your ways.  And, I know this, if I truly love You … I will obey Your commands … and, Your goodness and mercy will be with me all of my days.  If I am a true disciple, then I too must be about the work of my Father.  As I get to know You better, the darkness around me will fade away and Your light will shine into my life showing me the way to holiness and prosperity.  These are the many reasons why I know that I will always have a testimony for the Lord.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!
