In Trials and Tribulation

Most Caring Lord, it is consoling to know that because You suffered and were tempted, as a human, You understand the things I go through.  In Your compassion, You help me through my struggles.  Realizing that You suffered and faced trials, like me, helps me face mine.  Because You relate to my anguish, You are able to guide and comfort me.  Through trusting You, I am able to draw strength and remain patient in whatever I face.  When I experience difficult times, perseverance and faith help me prevail in doing what is right.  Knowing that You are fair and just assures me that I will not be forgotten or abandoned.  It gives me strength to know that any temptation I face is common to my fellow man and You will provide me with a way to escape the turmoil.  It is perseverance that helps me endure during tough times and faith that helps see my way forward.

In Your Word, You tell me to be brave when I face difficulties because You experienced Your share and know how to overcome them.  I am able to show courage, despite impending trouble, because I am not alone in my times of need.  If I choose to surrender my struggles to You, You take them upon Yourself and give me an infusion of Your peace to calm my nerves.  I am learning to rejoice in my suffering because it is producing patience, perseverance, character and hope in my life.  The difficulties I encounter help me grow and that’s why I can rejoice.  Facing and dealing with life’s problems and Satan’s deceits builds character and strength into my faith.  Developing solutions to my problems with Your help, shows me that Your timing will not always align with mine, but it will always be perfect.

I am comforted by Your words that assure me that troubles, hardships and trials will never separate me from Your love.  That promise is very encouraging because it speaks of the permanent character of Your love and the fact that You will remain true in every situation I face.  That promise also confirms Your love and devotion to me.  It assures me that no matter how far I stray, I will always be forgiven and taken back.  While one would think that trials and tribulation would drive me from You … in actuality, they pull me toward You for answers and relief.  I rejoice in the fact that nothing can keep You from standing with me.  In times of affliction, I must remain faithful to You and turn to prayer for strength.  I must constantly remind myself that during trials and tribulation I am made stronger, my trust in You is deepened and I am given confidence regarding my future.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

John 16:33 … In the world you shall have tribulations, but be of good cheer.  I have overcome the world.
