Who can even begin to imagine the vastness of Your wisdom, power and love? From them emanate a force that creates, uplifts, rescues, protects and upholds Your creation. Through Your mercy and grace, Your people are sustained. Your hand is forever extended to the lowly and forsaken. Your love sweeps up those who are lost and forlorn. Your tears wash away the pain and suffering from broken lives. Your brilliance illuminates those who seek truth and pursue righteousness. Who can withstand the power of Your wrath or the heat of Your breath directed toward Your enemies. Through the working of the Holy Spirit, all men are given an opportunity to surrender their lives to You. And, if they do not, they will face the consequences of their decision … the fires of Hell. Arise, My King, and send forth legions of Your angels to turn back the works of evil men and conniving spirits. Save me from my own folly and the deceptions of my enemies. Wash me and cleanse me of the filth picked up as I journey through life.
In Your awesome presence, I know You will show me my sins … guide me to repentance … and, cause me to turn my back on evil. My sincere desire is to separate myself from sin but, in order to do it, I must go through painful purging, self-sacrifice and rejection of temptations. Through the renewing of my mind, help me overcome bad choices by making good ones … avoid missteps by walking on solid ground … and eliminating confusion with the use of sound judgement. I want to become a lamb who knows the voice of his Shepherd and obeys it. Show me the way I am to go and give me the conviction to follow Your leading. Like You, I want to be a servant but, to get there, You must help me die to self. You promised that You would give me the will to do good, so I’m counting on Your words to be my guide. I know that I can trust You and count on You to meet my needs. I have learned from the lessons of life that the road I travel (if it’s without You) is lonely, empty and filled with pitfalls.
All praise, honor and glory belong to You, My King and Redeemer … the One to whom nothing is impossible. Your might has turned back the armies of evil over the centuries. You have built up my faith and torn down the walls of fear and doubt in my life. You are the disseminator of strength as I fill myself with joy from belonging to You. Your guiding hand points me in the direction of righteousness and helps me become more like You. Because of You, my days of confusion and struggles in making good decisions has come to an end. I now rely on Your wisdom to make the right choices. You are at the center of my life … guiding me in all things … and, lifting me into Your awesome presence. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
