O how magnificent and wonderful You are, My Gracious Lord. My heart yearns for a special closeness with You. Each day the sun rises with a vibrant brilliance that reminds me of You and, at night, the stars in the heavens testify to Your awesome creative power. My fondest desire is to always feel Your presence in my life. I want You to become an integral part of all that I say or do. I trust that, as my God, Your desire is to protect me, shield me from the attacks of my enemies and deliver me from the yoke of those who would put me in bondage. You are My Savior and by Your power I have been set me free from slavery to sin, the trappings of the world and my own self-centeredness. You have gathered me into Your heart and given me reason to be thankful.
In choosing to serve You as My God, I have gained access to Your Kingdom and I’m surrounded by Your unconditional love. You have opened the treasure chest of eternal bliss and the doors to happiness, fulfillment and prosperity. You have produced in me a new life and a new way to live. I have come to understand that small problems are solved with relatively simple solutions and large problems require more energy and power than the small ones. It is a wondrous experience to be able to stand by and watch You deal with my problems … regardless of their size. I need Your strength in order to not become discouraged when problems mount up against me because they develop patience and character. I need to learn to rest in the fact that … You always do what is best for me … I must find ways to honor You regardless of what is going on around me … believe that You will never leave me or forsake me … and, be able to see Your plans for me.
Help me never grow tired of doing things Your way. When circumstances reduce my chances of success, I need Your help in “letting go and letting God”. For it is easy to obey You when the task at hand is easy and I have the support of others. But, when I am able to persist in faith during hard times, I know the impossible has been made possible through You. Therefore, My Faithful and Everlasting God, I pledge to You my fidelity. I implore You to guide me and walk closely with me as I address the fires and storms that come into my life. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
