Learning From the Great Teacher

I praise You, My King, who is robed in majesty and crowned in glory.  The mighty waves of the ocean and the loud thunder of the storms submit humbly to You.  Your statutes and wisdom have withstood the test of time and Your holiness adorns everything under the stars.  I am but a mere sheep in the fold under Your care, yet I know Your understanding far exceeds that of mere mortals.  Thank You for Your heart that is tender and Your desire to guide me in paths of righteousness.

I have come to understand that You and Your Word are inseparable.  From the depths of You inner being You expressed Your love and hope for Your people through Your Word.  Your words are pure, everlasting, enlightening, cleansing and sanctifying … changing me for the better as I immerse myself in them.  They are able to build me up and are discerners of my thoughts and intents.  They deliver me from every form of bondage and accomplish whatever You send them to do.  I know that if I continue in Your Word, I will find the way to truth and it will set me free.  As I study and meditate on Your words, they strengthen me and renew my thought processes.  In my improved state of mine, I am able to make good choices and avoid associations with the lawless.

Throughout the ages, You have told Your people that, if they err, they do not know Your Word.  As I’ve explored the vastness and majesty of Your thoughts, I’ve come to know more about You and appreciate who You are.  As Your testimonies speak to me, I am drawn to Your heart and Your ways.  My faith grows from hearing and absorbing the wisdom and power of Your commands.  As I gain understanding, I am better able to share You with others.  My greatest wish is to hear Your voice each time that You speak to me and be able to retain what they have taught me.  I will strive to keep Your words before me always and continually explore the depth of their meaning.  I will treasure them because in them are the issues that are important to my life.

I also rejoice in learning from the Holy Spirit.  He is knowledgeable in Your ways and can make them known to me.  As I learn from Him, I am strengthened … I grow in my trust of You … I become more patient and understanding … I learn how to fight the good fight of faith … and I am steadied through the storms of my life so I do not shipwreck my future.  I bless and adore You My Great Teacher and I look forward to the lessons You will teach me.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Psalm 25:8-9 Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He instructs sinners in His ways.  He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.
