Learning From You

Most Wondrous God, living with You at the center of my life has proven to be fulfilling and has broadened my understanding of many things.  I’ve learned that I can’t out give You.  Your heart is as big as all outdoors and Your desire is not only to bless me, but bless me abundantly.  The hope that springs from within me is cultivated in an underlying trust in You and Your love.  You have blessed me beyond measure when You paid the price to settle my eternal account with Your life.  Now, I am confident that my ultimate resting place with You is secure.  I now can understand why You encourage me to run my race enthusiastically because, when I do it to the fullest, I am responding to Your calling.  In walking with You daily, I’m learning that … if I have questions, You will answer them … if I seek a deeper walk, I will receive it … when I knock on the door of Your heart, opportunity and abundance will be opened to me.

A good day for me is one that is filled with love, peace and joy.  All of these things can be found in a relationship with You.  That is why I should follow You into places where these things can be found.  The smile I have on my face does not mean my life is perfect … just that I’ve come to realize what I have and what I’ve become are pretty special things.  I’ve also learned that life is not all about me.  As a result, I should take time each day to tell others they are loved, help those who are in need, exercise my body and read from my Bible.  Your teachings have taught me that to become a receiver I must become a giver … and do it cheerfully.  I now understand that worry does not stop things from happening … it just stops me from enjoying the good things I have.  My faith has taught me that when the winds of adversity come storming in … I need to hang on for dear life.

In the same way that good flows from my relationship with You, good flows from a good relationship with others.  In that vein, I’ve come to realize that everyone needs love … and, if I’m to do the work of Your Kingdom, I need to offer them love.  You have shown me You are my friend and You have been a good one.  Help me be a good friend by saying nice things about others when they are not around and being there for them when they need a helping hand.  As I grow older, I’m realizing it is less important to have a lot of friends and more important to have real ones.  To have a meaningful relationship with others requires time and effort … as does a good marriage.  To have peace in my life, I must ignore those who are rude, those who criticize me and those who just want to argue.  These are some of the things I’ve learned from You and they’ve blessed me.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Psalm 25:4-5 Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths; guide me in truth and teach me, for You are God, My Savior, and my hope is in You all the day long.
