Most Awesome King, my life has been renewed by the Spirit of Life who has empowered me to serve You with enthusiasm. For when I found myself powerless to reap the benefits of what You did for me, it was the Holy Spirit who washed me in Your blood, making me white as snow, and empowered me to follow in Your footsteps. Your work on Calvary has freed me from the bondage of sin, so I can follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Prior to surrendering to You, I lived according to my fleshly desires and sinful nature. Now, I live in accordance with what the Holy Spirit shows me is the way to live uprightly. As a sinful man, I followed my own thinking which put me on a path toward destruction. However, my thinking has been renewed under the control of the Spirit who is infusing it with wisdom and peace. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I can now suppress the urgings of my flesh and live a righteous life.
The Spirit was Your partner in creation and is the one who powered my rebirth. He is the one who energizes my life as a Christian. People I am exposed to generally fall into two groups … those who let themselves be controlled by their fallen nature and those who follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. I would have been in the first category if You had not provided me with a way out. Once I said yes to You, I needed a teacher who would show me the way to lead a Godly life. Each day, I need the help of someone to point the way for me and be there to comfort me if I fall. The Spirit uses Your Word as my school book to teach me all I need to know about living a righteous life. He helps me make sound decisions by responding when I call out “what am I to do?” I am coming to realize what You meant when You told me You had left “another one” to be my helper and get me through my tough times.
Each day, I become more aware of the fact that when I gave myself to You, I got the Holy Spirit in the deal. With the Holy Spirit living within me, He confirms my salvation and assures me of access to the Father through You. In Him, I find the daily help I need to resolve my issues and the power to serve You and do Your will. Through Him, I’ve been awakened to my role in Your church. I am also learning how to put my flesh, with its misdeeds and selfish desires, to death. As I see sin’s appeal growing faint, I am able to ignore the appeal of temptation. I am comforted to know that those who allow themselves to be led by the Holy Spirit are sons of God. As a son and heir, I’ve been given access to the Holy Spirit and all of the other gifts You offer. With my life through the Spirit, I’m constantly reminded of who I am and what I need to do to be more like You. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Galatians 5:25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep step with the Spirit.
