Thanks to You, O Gracious God, for Your kindness and steadfast love. When I have needs, I can go to You in prayer and be assured You have heard my pleas. Whatever unfortunate circumstances I stumble into, I know You will be there for me. As each day passes, I become more cognizant of my need for You in my ever-changing world. Life is never static and I must be constantly checking my priorities in order to stay on top of everything that is going on in my life. The moments in my life are fleeting … they appear and then are gone … and, I am left to deal with their consequences. Adapting to change can be a full-time job, but with Your insights and guidance I know I can handle them effectively. My confidence comes from the fact that in my most trying times You are standing with me. My troubles are far outweighed by Your promises to help me overcome them as I become a winner of the race You’ve laid out for me. I must not allow myself to linger in the past if I want a chance to have hope for my future.
As insignificant as I may feel in the vastness of the universe, I know that I am important to You. After all, You gave Your life so I could be free to find the road to abundance and fulfillment. Help me remain sensitive to the wonderful things You’ve placed in my life and the special people You’ve given to me as family and friends. The business of living must go on, but please do not let me get so wrapped up in it that I do not take the time to “stop and smell the roses”. Each moment in my life has meaning and I want to make the most out of each one. Regardless of how small I might feel, I am encouraged by Your words that assure me of Your love and my significance in Your overall plan. I ask myself, “why would You bring me into the world if You did not have a plan and a mission for my life?” Help me never get so involved in all that’s going on around me that I lose sight of the fact You care about me and what I going through … and want to help.
In order to make the most out of each moment, I must learn to imitate of You. Your life was such a wonderful blend of prayer, service, teaching, ministry and making Yourself available for any need brought to You. The thing You have shown me is that You care about and respond to my needs. So, in turn, I should become sensitive to the needs of others, as well as my own. Making every moment count should be an important element of my life. I have been given a certain amount of time on this earth and I know You will hold me accountable for it. Help me spend my life being transformed into something better and helping others to do the same. Strip away any temptation to squander my time on meaningless things and teach me how to make good investments in becoming more like You. Enkindle in me the desire to be more like You and spending each moment like it was my last. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
