Most Benevolent Lord, when asked to introduce myself, I usually answer in terms of my family, my work, the organizations to which I belong, etc. But these aspects of my life are not more important than what You say I am … and the person to whom I’ve been destined to become. I know I can find out who I am by reading Your Word and here is some of what it had to say (and for which I am eternally grateful):
* I am blessed – I have all of the benefits of belonging to You – love, peace, grace, mercy, health, prosperity, etc.
* I am chosen – I have an identity, purpose and a value above what the world bestows. You have a plan for my life and I was selected to fulfill it.
* I am an adopted child – Through my belief in You, I’ve been brought into Your family and I am a joint heir with You. I now belong to something bigger than me.
* I am redeemed – I once owed a debt bigger than I could repay. However, through Your death and resurrection, that debt has been paid in full and I can walk as a free man.
* I am marked with a seal – The Holy spirit is Your seal and proof that I am Yours. The Holy Spirit is Your down payment/deposit guaranteeing that You will do everything that You’ve promised to do.
* I am a person who’s been given a new life – I no longer need to live under the power of sin. When I came to You, I was dead in sin and a slave to it … but, now I live a new life in You.
* I am saved – Through faith in You, I stand acquitted … not guilty … before You and Your Father. You have not taken me out of the world but, instead, have given me access to Your Kingdom and eternal life.
* I am Your workmanship – One of Your masterpieces. It’s through Your power and creativity that I’ve been recast into a person who does good in loving service to You. I will no longer treat myself, or anyone else, with disrespect.
* I have been brought near to You – Through the cleansing power of Your blood, my rags have become royal robes. My unrighteousness and separation have been removed and they’ve been replaced with righteousness and right standing with You. I’m acceptable in Your sight and I’ve taken on Your nature.
* I am a citizen of Your Kingdom – The Apostles and Prophets are the foundation of Your Kingdom. You are the Cornerstone and Ruler. I am now a piece of the community devoted and dedicated to You.
It is for these reasons and so many more that I’ve come to adore You and believe that You have changed my life forever. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Acts 17:28 For in Him we live and move and have our being.
