Loving You All The More

Most Kind and Generous Lord, as I contemplate the many benefits I’ve derived from our relationship, I am awed by the consistency and tenderness of Your treatment of me.  As faithful as the rising of the sun in the day and the rising of the moon in the night has been Your faithfulness to me.  Like the soil and moisture sustain a tree, You are my sustenance and drink.  You have given me a life with a calling to spend my time on earth striving to fulfill the goals You’ve set for me and getting to know You better.  You are an ever present, positive force in my life guiding me through the dangerous currents and cross-currents that I must deal with.  You are active in my life … showing me where to go … teaching me how to overcome the circumstances that try to take me off my stride … and showing me the pathway to people who You want to use to enrich and influence my life.

Like a Good Shepherd, You lead me in paths of righteousness.  As I spend time with You, I’m learning how to discern Your voice and listen for the things You are trying to tell me.  You keep me safe by building a hedge around me that keeps me within safe borders where I cannot be tested above what I am able to handle.  You offer me protection from the brazen attacks of my enemies and offer me a place of peace and rest.  You have given me Your Spirit to be My Companion who walks with me each day … You’ve taught me how to master the hard lessons I must learn in order to become an overcomer … You’ve held my hand and guided me through the darkness when I am confused … and, You never let me become satisfied with failure or living below my calling.  Life is full of ups and downs and I can always feel Your positive encouragement buoying me up and Your hand extended when I am down.

I am moved by Your tender love and unwavering compassion for my struggles.  When I am unable to pull myself from the mire and clay of sin, You sent Your Son to pull me free.  When my sinful lusts and horrible choices covered me like one tarred and feathered, You gave me Your very own blood to wash myself and remove the stains caused by my sins.  When my selfish ways hardened my heart, You pounded it with a hammer of kindness, mercy and grace to mold it into Your image and make it as soft as new fallen snow.  My constant companions … fear, worry and confusion … have been banished from my life by Your love and replaced with courage, confidence and sound thinking.  All of these things prove to me the unmerited favor I have with You and the unfathomable tenderness which You look upon me.  This is why I cannot keep from loving You all the more.  And it’s in Jesus name I pray.  AMEN!!

Psalm 13:5 But I trust in Your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in Your salvation.
