Making A Case For Christ

Most Tender Hearted God, recently I asked myself, why do I believe in You?  I can’t see You with my natural eyes … I cannot touch You with my human hands … and I can’t smell a scent from Your presence in a room with me.  Why is it that I fall so heads over heal in love with You when I cannot come to You and feel Your warm embrace?  Your answer was simple … “Blessed are those who have not seen, yet have believed.”  In those words, You’ve confirmed I do not have to see You … I just have to believe You are the Son of God, that You laid down Your life in payment for my sins and that I want to follow Your lead.  I have come to understand that I have all the proof that I need in the words of the Bible and the testimony of witnesses throughout the ages.  I truly believe that You’ve revealed all that I need to know to lead a successful life for You.

So, by faith I join myself to You and, through my trust in Your faithfulness to perform what You promised my life, I am changed forever.  You’ve assured me that, in becoming familiar with Your Word, I will “know the truth and it will set me free.“  You’ve explained that I cannot fail to become a success if I know and practice the truths You’ve shared with me.  In following the guidance of Your words, I will come to understand what is “real” truth and, as a result, I will be set free to become a doer of what they teach me.  In yielding to You, I declare my belief that You are My Redeemer and The King of my life.  Your work on Calvary helps me understand the depth of the love You felt toward Your Father and Your creation.  Truly, You alone are worthy of bearing the title “King” and sitting on the throne of my life.

The thing I could not resist was Your love … unselfish and unconditional.  Like a magnet, it drew me to Your side and holds me close to Your heart.  How I must have disappointed You with my sins, omissions and poor choices.  But, like the father of the prodigal son, You paced up and down the hallways of Heaven waiting for me to come home to You again.  Like a Good Shepherd, You watch over me and guide me to good places and good outcomes.  Like a Potter, You’ve taken the raw materials, place in me at my birth, and shaped them into the person I am today and the person I will become.  You are the Artist and I am Your canvas upon whom You paint the reality of who You are to all the world.  As I go forward, I want to make a case for surrendering to You.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Romans 10:8-10 The Word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your hearts, that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:  That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with the heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
