Making the Most of Each Day

My Precious Lord, I rejoice today because it’s the day You have made and allowed me to spend it with You.  I know that as soon as my feet touch the ground today, what I make of it depends on me.  As a result, I make a choice to enjoy my life and live it to the fullest for You.  There are many things in my life that cause me to become agitated and saddened, but I will choose the higher road of celebration for all that I have and all I can be.  With You by my side, I am victorious and that makes my day worthwhile.  I will strive to become a source of encouragement and blessing to others by being cheerful regardless of how I am feeling.  I’ll speak only words of kindness and give expecting nothing in return.  I’ll be generous with praise and give comfort to the broken hearted.  I’ll dispense Your joy and bring those who hunger and thirst for righteousness to Your banqueting table.  You have commanded me to rejoice and be glad … when I contemplate all that You’ve done for me, that is easy to do.

I will live each day as though it was my last.  I know that each day is a gift and I will treat it like one.  I will try to find value in the people, places and things that You’ve placed in my life.  I will work hard at making a difference … for You and for others.  I will live my life and enjoy it one day at a time … so that the magnitude of what I’ll face tomorrow does not overwhelm me.  I know that rejoicing in You, while everything is crumbling around me, is the only way to hang on to my hope and keep my bearings.  I will face each day with a smile on my face, kind words on my lips and pleasant thoughts to keep me focused on You.  I will strive to be generous with my time, talents and resources.  I will lift up others with words of hope.  For You have given me a mission and a purpose.  As I obediently serve You, You will fill my days with prosperity and my years with contentment.

It is not because everything in my day is going great that makes me want to rejoice … I do so because You share in it with me.  You’ve warned me that in my life I will have tribulations, but You give comfort to my heart when You reassure me that You will help me in overcoming them all.  In Your Wisdom, You’ve encouraged me to take one day at a time so that I do not become overwhelmed.  You’ve taught me that each day will have its own unique struggles and battles … so, to conserve energy, I should take my challenges one day at a time.  I take consolation in the fact that no matter what I face … it will never be more than I can handle.  The Devil will try to convince me that my obstacles are too great to be dealt with, but Your response to me is … “if you possess faith the size of a mustard seed, you can overcome any obstacle.”  I know that when I feel my weakest, You are made strong and we will be victorious together as I make the most out of each day.  And it’s in Jesus’ name that I pray.  AMEN!!

Matthew 6:34 Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.
