Most High God, how great is Your goodness which You have stored up for those who reverence You and hold You in high esteem. You are awesome beyond description and, though I find it hard to describe You in words, I feel compelled to tell others about You and what You’ve done for me. I ask myself, “Who is above You, O God?” Your righteousness reaches the sky … Your love is more expansive than the universe … what You know can fill the earth many times … and, though I go through many trials, You rescue me from them all. No matter how low I sink, You have the power to bring me up again. Your ways are higher than my ways and Your thoughts far above mine. Your power is unmatched … You perform great miracles with it … and, You’ve used it to rescue me many times. There is none like You who can perform the deeds You do or act with the power that You have.
How great are Your works and how profound are Your thoughts … they confound even the wisest of men. I cannot help but praise You for all the good You have done. My heart yearns to tell others of Your desire to transform their lives and show them mercy. Your greatness can be seen in the creation where all things were made from nothing. Your awesome power, which undergirds Your creation, also upholds me. I receive great peace from respecting Your laws and purposing in my heart to do what they ask of me. As I keep my eyes focused on You, I know that I will not stumble and fall. Though You sit on Your throne in Heaven, Your eyes continually follow me wherever I go and, when I walk through troubled waters, You are quick to come to my aid. And how precious are Your thoughts to me because they fill me with an understanding that no human wisdom can approach.
Sometimes I feel like I do not understand myself … what I want … how I feel … what is ailing me … and, I even struggle with making decisions. It is in these times that I need to recognize Your wisdom has no limits and only You understand everything about me. When I am able to take my mind off of myself and focus it on You, I see things the way that You do. As I strive to become more like You and learn more about You, I know that my path forward will become clearer and I will be able to run the race You intended for me. Your love is immense and You’ve said that “greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends” and You have done that for me. The same power that raised You from the dead is available to me … if I will take hold of it. Through Your commitment to me, I am able to win my battles with sin because greater is He who resides in me. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
