Moving On With You

My pledge, O Lord, is to spend the rest of my life advancing in faithfulness to You.  In my quest to be more like You, I will be seeking to attain a higher version of holiness and becoming more generous in every aspect of my life.   As I share the reality of who You are and what You want for all people, I know my witness will become stronger.  I take much solace in the fact that You are faithful, righteous and just.  Your love extends to the Heavens … Your righteousness is as solid as any mountain … and Your judgements are filled with wisdom as the oceans are with water.  I have no reason to fear tomorrow because I know You love me and will care for my needs.  If I trust You and do good, You will keep me in a place of safety and joy.  Waiting on You is not easy, but only You can lift my burdens … set my feet on solid ground … and put a song in my heart when everything is falling apart.

In Your assurance to answer my prayers, it becomes easy to be at rest because I’ve placed my trust in the fact that You are in control.  If I develop an attitude of submission and obedience, I will be pulled closer to You and I will become fortified for whatever comes my way.  I know that I can move on from my failings because in Your kindness You forgive me instead of giving me what I deserve.  With You by my side, I am not tempted to flee from trouble but, instead, face it and deal with using Your wisdom.  As My Rock, You cannot be overcome by any force that comes against me … As My Fortress, You are my place of safety where evil cannot come in … As My Shield, You come between me and harm …  As My Stronghold, You build a wall of protection around me.  I need Your strength, protection and counsel to survive in an evil world and be a channel that spreads the Good News of Your Kingdom.

Normally, my greatest blessings come when I patiently persevere through my struggles.  In order to achieve forgiveness and become restored, I must possess a broken spirit and a contrite heart.  This kind of humility pleases You and helps me get up and try again.  With You standing by me, I feel like a tree planted by rivers of water who receives refreshing when circumstances become unbearable.  When I struggle, You invite me to cast my cares on You and You will sustain me.  I know that I will experience real success as I learn to lean on You and follow in Your footsteps.  Reflecting on Your promise of blessings helps me focus on the many times You’ve come to my aid and brought good into my life.  You are my refuge and, as a result, when my fears are the greatest I can find a place of safety.  Therefore, nothing can stop me from moving on with You.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!
