Dear Lord, I thank You for this day and the opportunity to live it for You. I am blessed by Your understanding heart and Your willingness to forgive my missteps. You have done so much for me that the words “thank you” seem so small and inadequate compared to all that You do for me. I am sorrowful for all of the things I have said, done or thought that was not pleasing to You. Continue Your watch over me and keep be safe from danger. I want to start each day with a positive attitude and plenty of gratitude. I will strive to make the best of my days on earth … walking by faith, being attentive to Your leading and running the race You’ve laid out for me. Open my mind to accept Your truths and empower me to walk in them. I never want to whine or complain about the things over which I have no control. And help me respond like You would when things do not go my way or I’m pushed to my limits. When I cannot express my feelings or sentiments, listen to my heart and feel my pain, sorrow or confusion … and tell me what to do.
Continue to use me to do Your will and help me when I do not know what it is. Bless me so that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong so that I can help the weak. Fill me in with Your joy so that I can offer words of encouragement to those who need it. Help me be a light to those lost in darkness and cannot find their way. Show me how to reach out to those who are misjudged and misunderstood. Help me identify and pray for those who will not turn to You in their times of sorrow, confusion and distress.
Fill my home, and the homes of all Your children, with peace, love and happiness. Meet all of my physical, spiritual and material needs out of the abundance of Your goodness. Help me never forget that there is no problem or situation in my life that is too big for You to handle. Help me learn to trust You in every battle I encounter. Be the force that insures I will prevail as I come to You with my daily prayers. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
