My Glorious Savior (Lenten Theme)

All blessings and honor to You, O Sovereign King, Holy One of Israel, incorruptible, mighty and just.  It has always been the desire of Your heart that everyone be saved and come into the marvelous light of Your truth.  You have given Yourself as a ransom for my sins.  No longer must I hunger and thirst for right standing with You … for You have invited me into Your home, provided a seat at Your banqueting table and invited me to drink from the fountain of life.  You have called me to listen to Your sayings and invited me to partake of the bounties of Your love.  You have promised that if I take heed to Your call … receive it … and respond to it … my soul will live forever with You in Paradise.

So surely Your arm is not too short that it cannot reach down to save me … neither are Your ears dulled so that You cannot hear my pleas.  But my iniquities have separated me from Your love.  My sins prevent me from seeing You face to face and that makes me fearful that my cries for help will be ignored.  I am stained with the sins of selfishness, neglect, muttered words, unfair judgments and argumentative lips.  I have conceived trouble and given birth to evil.  I feel like an insect caught in a spider’s web.  Too often, I have rushed into sin without giving thought to its impact on You, others or even myself.  The way to peace has become cloudy and I’ve lost my way.  I have traveled down crooked roads knowing not where I am going or where I’ve been.  Like a blind man, I grope around in the darkness.  I stumble and fall.  My heart cries out “where is my Deliverer?”  Is there no one who will show me the way back to high ground?  Is there anyone who will save me from the pit?

And then I hear Your voice.  It calls out saying … ”Come to me, You who labor and are heavily laden … come to me, the Lamb who was slain for the sins of the world … come to me, put Your fingers into the holes in my hands and Your fist into my side so that You will know it is me.”  O King of Kings and Lord of Lords, shine Your light into my darkness because I desire to give You thanks for Your saving grace and the restoration of my soul.  You have paid the price … my account is paid in full.  Freely You have given and freely I receive.  Help me resolve to not return to the sins that have so easily beset me in the past.  Help me walk uprightly and learn from Your Wisdom.  You have invited me to partake of Yourself so that I might receive strength and grace to fight through the temptations and distractions of another day.  For all these things, my heart rejoices and my soul delights in You, My Glorious Savior.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Jude 1:24 To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with joy – to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority …
