Most Glorious Savior, I find it hard to believe that I can find myself drifting away from You when You’ve offered for me to come to You, when I am weary and burdened, because You will give me rest. As I carry the burdens of sins, excessive demands, poor choices and missed opportunities, I know that if I come to You I will find love, healing and favor. A relationship with You changes meaningless, wearisome tasks into a hopeful, productive and purposeful life. I’m sometimes a slow learner, but I realize that:
You are everything to me. You are omnipotent (having the power to do all things); omnipresent (not limited in any way to be where I am); and, omniscient (knowing all things I need for life and prosperity). Having Your help means I have nothing to fear or worry about.
You are all that I need. With Your limitless resources, abilities and love, there isn’t a thing that I require that You cannot meet for me to be content, cared for and complete. In short, I lack nothing.
You are my peace. For in the most turbulent times that I face, You calm me … take away my fears and concerns … and, lead me to a place of safety and rest.
You are the one who goes before me. You ensure that my path forward is clear, free of danger and is taking me the way that I should be headed.
You are the one who stands with me in all things. I sometimes wonder if You understand what I’m going through or how I feel. However, I usually find that You were even closer than I ever imagined.
You are my hedge of protection. You keep away evil, crush the temptations that try to lead me astray and shield me from the harm intended by my enemies. You protect me from myself as well as others.
You are the light that shines into my darkness. When I do not know the way I am to go or I’m having difficulty distinguishing good from evil or I cannot see the traps set for me … Your light keeps me safe.
You are the Lamb slain to redeem me from my sins and for that I am eternally grateful.
You are the One who assured me that I would never be tested beyond what I could stand and, when the pressures and demands of life became too great, You’d be there to help me bear them.
And, You are the solid ground on which I stand whenever the storms of life come to wash away my future. When I feel like I’m standing on shifting sand, You are the Rock on which I can build my life.
For all of these reasons, I have no doubt that You will always be there in my times of need. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Hebrews 4:16 Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our times of need.
