Glory and honor to You, Almighty King, for You promised to instruct me in the way I am to go … and, You’ve assured me that You’d keep an eye on me in case I went off in the wrong direction. Because You have always had a plan for my life, Your desire is to show me the inner-workings of that plan so I can begin to live it out. Under Your guidance, I find myself highly motivated … and, as I follow Your lead, I am beginning to see the way You think and the way You look at things. In dedicating my life to You, I have begun to train for the running of my race and the attainment of the goals You’ve set before me. As Your child, You’ve provided me with ways to mature and reap the benefits of my inheritance. In thanksgiving for Your loving kindness, my desire is to become a living example of You. If I am to remain true to my commitment, I must make decisions that align my will with Yours. I have come to trust Your plan for my life and I plan to adhere to it.
My journey, like everything in the universe, had its beginning with You. Whether I realize it or not, You have a divine call on my life and the expectation that I will willingly be used in the advancement of Your Kingdom. As I work on building my relationship with You, You will make Your wishes clearer to me. Sometimes I have no problem understanding what You are asking … while at other times, it gets blurry and I have reservations about what my next steps should be. Uncertainty has a way of stymying my attempts to move forward. In those difficult times, when I am unsure of which way I am to go, I will strive to keep my focus on the fact that I was created for a purpose and, if I persevere, You will show me the path I am to take. I am an integral part of Your work on earth and, as a result, I have the assurance that You will remain patient with me as I learn my role.
Help me remember that You speak through the bible, prayer, circumstances, the good counsel of family and friends and my times alone with You. I believe that Your goal is to improve my life. Therefore, I must maintain my focus so that I get to where You are sending me. In those times, when I’m unsure about what You are telling me to do, I am counting on the fact that You will repeat Your instructions so that I ultimately get to my destination. Rest is a key to the success of my journey and I must realize that sometimes You will cause me to stop so I do not overdo it. Without You to provide direction, my life has no real purpose and, without purpose, it has no meaning. Fill me with Your goodness so that Your love spills over onto those who are near to me. I know that as I draw closer to You, You will draw closer to me and You will make Your wishes known. In so-doing, the purpose for my journey will become clearer and I will be able to travel life’s road the way You intended. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
