My Lord, who would dare to think they could be You or take Your place among the people of the earth? For You are perfect in all Your ways, mighty in power, merciful in justice, awesome in glory and able to do miraculous deeds. You are bigger than any problem that I have. Your unfailing love draws me to Your side. You have delivered me from my sins and human weaknesses. You have bought me with a price I could not pay. You have set me apart for a special calling since my birth. You are My King and Your desire is to show me the ways to freedom, prosperity and peace.
So where can I go or to whom should I go to find someone who will love me as much as You do? In Your presence I find safety and rest. In Your Words, I find the power that drives my life and provides me with contentment in who I am and what I have. In Your Wisdom are hidden the truths that produce the meaningful things for my life. O how I desire to walk uprightly like You do. To emulate Your ways will require surrendering my will to You and dying to myself. It will not be easy, but I know that if I submit to You and Your leadership, You will help me. Be my guide in a world filled with confusion, temptations and many bad outcomes.
Speak to me and I will listen. Show me the way and I will follow. Counsel me and I will learn Your truths and make better choices. Open Your heart to me and I will mimic it. Help me understand Your ways and I will walk in straight paths. Show me how to balance my life so I can make time to spend with You. Wake me early in the morning so I can meet and talk with You before my day begins. In so doing, I will be energized and strengthened for the labors, tests and trials I will encounter. Make my time with You more than cameo appearances … instead, meaningful encounters with The Creator of all things. Guide me into the depths of You heart where I can learn and grow.
Reach out and pull me back when I start to drift away from You so that I will not be swallowed up by evil. Renew my mind through time in Your Word so that my paths to prosperity and purity will become more clear. Help me see with eyes that see and ears that hear what You have planned for me. Guide me to the path I am to take in order to act righteously and become a beacon of light in the darkness. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
