O Spring of New Life, I exalt Your name because You are the catalyst by which I change, grow and improve. As I take up my cross to follow You, my eyes will be opened to the truth and the Holy Spirit will help me put the truth into action. When circumstances come to steal my hope, I’ll remember that You are my hope. When troubles begin to drain my strength, I’ll rejoice in You since Your joy replenishes my strength. When I am confused, I’ll turn to the Holy Spirit for advice because He is my teacher and guide. Nothing in my life will change for the better unless You are involved in it. To begin anew, I must revamp the way I live and enhance the things I am doing to grow in spirit, soul and body.
I want my life to be a success. To become a success, I must not dwell on the past and relive events with regrets. The only reason for me to look back is to glean lessons on how to move forward. To “truly” forgive and “truly” forget begins when I recall how many times I’ve come and received Your forgiveness which I must now give to others. I should always look at my life through the lens of gratitude. Gratitude for the things I’ve learned and the gifts I’ve been given. If I’m not grateful, I will become complacent and take things/people for granted. I must also learn to refrain from judging. I can clearly judge myself because I live in my skin … but, I should be leery about judging others and letting those judgments affect my attitudes … because I have not lived in anyone else’s skin nor travelled their journey. I have come to realize that my life on earth is very short and I should go full bore to make an impact for You. I’ve also come to realize that life is precious … it’s a gift from You … and I should treat it as such. Help me keep my focus on the fact that the best witness I can give for You is the one I live out each day.
I need Your help in clearing out the clutter from my life so I can start doing meaningful things with it. I waste time on too many things and I don’t want to fritter away valuable time. My desire is to do everything I can, for as long as I can, to love, comfort and help others. I do not want to become absorbed in myself to the exclusion of others. I want to make meaningful statements that build up the worth of others. I will strive to eliminate prejudice from my life and be open minded toward thoughts and opinions that are not mine. In so doing, I’m sure I will have more people to talk with. I must learn to get past my hurts, disappointments and handicaps which I’ve experienced and reach out to those in need … giving them what I can. My goal is to become a good listener … to You and others. As I listen, You can show me how to be a blessing to others at just the right time. Help me not be stingy … realizing I have plenty … and I will not miss what I’ll give away. I promise to keep a focus on my new beginnings so I can become more for You and be a blessing to others. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
