I am most thankful, My Benevolent Lord, that in Your wisdom You have made provision to show me how to pray through the gift of Holy Spirit. Having a personal prayer partner to help me express my feelings and needs is helpful beyond measure. Knowing I have a guide to facilitate my time in prayer is important because He empowers me to speak without worrying about what I will say. Living in the hustle and bustle of the world makes finding time to spend in prayer difficult. It is reassuring to know that if my mind gets stuck in darkness and confusion, the Spirit will be there to speak on my behalf. He is the One sent to help me choose the words that convey to You the message that’s in my heart. This is very beneficial since I might ask for the wrong things or ask for things that are not in agreement with Your plans for my life. Your Word encourages me to pray with other believers but, when that is not possible, I am comforted in knowing the Holy Spirit is with me to help me pray as I should.
A part of praying that is essential to a positive and productive prayer life is faith. You have confirmed in Your Word that everyone has been given the measure of faith. That tells me that the ingredient necessary for a power-packed prayer life is already resident in me and if I put it to good use and cultivate it’s growth, I will achieve awesome results with my prayers. As I fill my heart and mind with Your thoughts … as I spend time at Your feet … as I become attentive to the instruction of the Holy Spirit … I know that it will become easier to pray according to Your will. One of the biggest problems that I face in praying effectively is unbelief. Strengthen my faith so I can make my requests known to You trusting that You are listening and wanting to do what I ask.
O Precious Lord, my greatest longing is to be able to effectively communicate with You, the Holy Spirit and the Father in ways that will be meaningful and heart-felt. As I immerse myself in dialogue with You, I believe that the shrill cries of fear and worry will be silenced. I have come to understand that I am never alone … that you and My Comforter are always near … and, whenever I need to know someone cares about what is going on in my life, You will both be there to uplift me. Help me find a few moments of quiet time with You each day so that I can be re-energized and my hope renewed. Having a prayer partner means I have someone I can count on to show me how to pray as I ought. I am so thankful for my gifts of faith and the Holy Spirit who help me find a way to express my thoughts, feelings and needs to You. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Romans 8:27 And He who searches the hearts knows the mind of the Holy Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
