My Strength is In You

O Blessed Redeemer, my soul is heavy from the labors of life … strengthen me as You have promised.  I long to hear You say “for your sake, I will lift your burden and give you rest.”  I want You to know that I rely on You to be my source of strength when I have none.  When my soul is heavy within me, only You can give me the tenaciousness I need to persevere.  As I bring my needs to You, I have confidence that You will not fail me.  Because of Your consistency, I know that You will strengthen me through the working of the Holy Spirit … beginning in my inner man and bubbling up to my outer man.  As my faith grows, so will my ability to appropriate Your strength whenever I need it.  My desire is to walk worthy of Your calling, being fruitful in good works and increasing in my knowledge of You.  To do this, I must walk in Your power and courageously strive to accomplish the tasks You’ve set before me.

I know that if I am patient and wait for Your instructions, I will have time to renew my strength and be ready for whatever the future may hold.  If I am required to run, I will not grow weary.  And, if I’m required to walk, I will not faint.  The main thing I must learn is to wait until You are ready before I undertake anything.  I have also learned that Your joy is a source of renewal and strengthening.  As words of praise flow from my heart and unto my lips, my whole being is refreshed and invigorated because I have chosen to put my focus on You.  In sync with You, I believe that all things are possible when we undertake them together.  It is You who empowers me to stand my ground when you say … “fear not, for I am with you.  Be not dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you.  I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Counsel me, O Lord, and share with me Your wisdom so I can grow in understanding for the day when adversity comes my way.  I am thankful that, when I am weak and lack the ability to overcome evil, You will infuse me with power for the fight.  You are My Rock, My Fortress and My Deliverer.  You are the one who I trust because You stepped up to save me and become My Defender.  When I put on Your armor, I can withstand the forces of evil and the stresses of the world.  If You are My Light and My Salvation, then what do I have to fear?  With You strengthening me, of whom should I be afraid?  My sure way to victory is to be strong in You and the power of Your might.  In looking after me, You’ve built a hedge of protection around me and stand at the gate so no enemy can enter.  I have come to rely on You for my strength so that I can be an overcomer in all things.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the weak and, to those who have no might, He increases strength.
