My Triumphant King (Lenten Theme)

Most Precious Lamb of God, how happy I am to celebrate Your triumph over sin, death and hell when You rose from the dead on Easter morning.  With great joy, I gladly share in Your victory on that holy day.  Now I can boldly proclaim … “O death, where is your sting?”  Once and for all, You have covered my sins with Your suffering and death on the cross so that I would not have to experience it.  As a sinner, I’ve been redeemed through Your loving sacrifice.  Now You reign as King and Conqueror and I am able to rule and reign with You.  No longer does sin hold me captive … nor death lead me to eternal suffering and separation from You.  Instead, You have opened the gates of Heaven to me.  What I now feel in my heart is true joy and thanksgiving for all You have done.  I feel safe nestled in You arms.

I praise You for all of the many wondrous things You have done.  Because of You, my salvation has been won and I have been given a new life.  Now I am free to be formed into Your image and likeness.  The darkness that once filled my life has been replaced by the light of coming to know You more intimately and what You expect of me.  Through my belief in You, fear has been replaced by faith and worry has been replaced by hope.  As You speak, my desire is to listen and obey.  Like a sheep of Your fold, my desire is to follow wherever You lead.  Help me sense Your presence in all that goes on in my life and show me the path to righteous living.  I know that my heart is open to You and my desire is to hear Your voice and do Your good pleasure.  I rest peacefully in Your ability to protect me and shield me from evil.

As long as I am able to draw a breath, I will remain grateful for all that You have done for me.  I was lost and enslaved by fear and worry but, through Your sacrifice, I no longer fear death and worry about the unknown.  I am confident that You have dealt with both of them.  So, I am now able to rejoice in the fact that though I was once dead in sin, I now have newness of life through Your death and resurrection.  I gladly accept You as My Redeemer and I trust that all you want is good for my life.  You chose to give up Your life for me and I have chosen to give up control of my life so You can make of it what You want.  You suffered for my gain … You loved so I could experience true love … and, You took upon Yourself pain and suffering so I could be free of it.  That is why I stand confident in Your triumph and know I am a benefactor of it.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!

II Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in a triumphant procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.
