My Magnificent Lord, I believe that Your love will abound toward me more and more as I increase my knowledge of You. My desire is for my wisdom to increase as I gain deeper insights into You and put those insights to work for You. As my life becomes more intertwined with Yours, I know I will be able to discern the best way to live my life. As I mimic Your example, I will be able to live uprightly bask in Your grace. As a result of submitting my life to You, I am motivated to live in accordance with Your will which pleases Your Father. It is Your love and devotion that gives me the assurance that whatever happens in my life will work out for my good. The foundation upon which I am building my life (You) will sustain me in difficult times and will help me stand strong in my most trying circumstances. I know that if I stay in harmony with You things that were impossible will become possible.
When I do nothing out of selfish ambition or self-gratification and, instead, humbly consider others more highly than myself … I am advancing Your Kingdom. Like You, who made Himself nothing, taking on the nature of a servant, becoming obedient unto death, I want to serve the “Living God” as You did. In obedience to Your will, I have a new found motivation to do Your work and accomplish Your goals. I pledge to strive to serve You gladly and without complaining so that Your light can shine brightly through me. Like Paul, I consider my earthly accomplishments and worldly wealth as “rubbish” in comparison to the things I’ve been able to do in sharing Your goodness with those who languish in darkness and live in a state of confusion. Each day that I spend with You, I am challenged to be more and do more for You. I feel I can best serve You by being a servant to others.
Because You are my Lord and Master, You should call me Your servant but, instead, You call me a friend. How comforting and reassuring it is to be a chosen friend. It is a sure sign that the hostility between us that existed because of my former sinful state has been eliminated. Because You are my Lord, I owe You honor and obedience but, as Your friend, I owe You my love, devotion and companionship. A friend is one who stands by another … comes to his aid when needed … helps in every way possible … put the other before himself … and You’ve done all of those things for me. My desire is to give back to You. As friends, You want to share with me everything that You have learned from the Father. I, in turn, want to be the seed that fell on good ground and produced much fruit. I am so thankful that You chose me to be Your friend and I long for a closer relationship with You. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
Psalm 89:15 Blest are those who have learned to acclaim You, who walk in the light of Your presence, O Lord.
