Dear Precious Lord, I love You with all of my heart. You have been the source of everything that is good in my life. In all of my comings and goings, You have stood with me. You’ve shined Your light into my darkness so I could see the path that You had planned for me. When I lose hope, You come to my aid. When I am sad and discouraged, You send me Your love and the assurance that, we together, can weather the storm. When financial distress has surrounded me, You’ve sent help to manage my load. When my health faltered, You sent wise doctors and Your healing balm to get me back on my feet. When my choices destined me for Hell, You paid the ransom required to redeem me. When I was filled with shame because of my failures, You forgave me and lifted my spirits. When I had difficult decisions to make, You gave me the wisdom required to make good choices. So, where do I go, if not to You, O Prince of Peace?
My greatest desire is to trust You more so that there is no room in my life for doubt. I know that as I draw closer to You, the grip that the world has on me will be lessened. As I commit my ways to You, the Evil One will have a harder time leading me astray or destroying my future. I also know that I have a place near to Your heart as I fall on my knees in prayer. As I cultivate my relationship with You, You will fill me with the confidence to believe that You will be with me through all things and nothing can prevail against me. As I trust You to good in my life, You will infuse me with peace and security. As I delight in You, my faith will reassure me that You will care for my needs and give me the desires of my heart. As I surrender more of myself and my life to You, I know that You will respond in a positive way to enhance every aspect of my life. So, to whom shall I go in my times of need?
With the image of Your Cross before me, I have decided to abandon the ways of the world and my fleshly desires in favor of Your ways. You surrendered Your exalted position in Heaven and came to earth as a servant in order to suffer and die for my sins so that sin and death would no longer have dominion over me and I could advance my life in a positive way. No longer am I destined to flounder in the darkness because You have sent Your light to guide in paths of righteousness. Therefore, I will no longer stumble over the traps set by my enemies and, instead, move boldly forward on the path You planned for me … realizing that my life is a long journey but Heaven is my home. I will take one step at a time, one day at a time. I will take great joy in the fact that You have released me from the shackles of the past … helping move toward prosperity … and, content in who I am and what I have. This is why I know that there is no turning back for me. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
