Not In My Strength, But Yours

I am thankful, My Beloved Savior, that in spite of my past failures, You still respond to my prayers whenever I turn from my sins and repent.  You hear my cries and strengthen me for the headwinds I will face.  No matter how far I stray or how long I am separated from You, You stand ready to come to my aid and restore me.  In every situation I find myself, I am confident I will overcome the trials I am facing because I have submitted myself to You and I can draw on Your strength to get me through my difficulties.  As I pursue a deeper relationship with You, I know I will experience a level of joy that will improve my attitude and strengthen me to persevere through my struggles.  In Your infinite power, vast wisdom and perceptive insight resides all the resources I need to find good for my life.  I feel empowered by Your strength as I walk with You … consult with You … and, are shielded from adversity by You.

When I am opposed, my first thought is to ask You for help in getting me out of the situation.  What I can count on, when I show determination and resolve, is the fact that You will use Your great strength to help me out of my jam.  To draw on Your strength, I must learn patience and be able to wait.  Just because I am ready doesn’t mean You are because the timing is not right or I need time to be prepared to deal with the issue at hand.  I must stand my ground and wait for Your perfect timing before anything can happen.  I can make good use of my waiting time to discover what it is that You are trying to teach me.  At times, I find my life filled with all kind of rules and there is no one to teach me how to apply them.  But, with Your laws and commands, the meaning is clear, You provide me with a teacher (the Holy Spirit) and You empowered me to walk in them.

It is comforting to know that Your power is greater than any I will face and Your goal is to endue me with that power as I mature and show I will act responsibly with it.  I am neither fearful nor dismayed by circumstances any longer because Your power helps me deal with them all.  I am confident, as I go about my day, because I have learned that … You are faithful … we have a solid, committed relationship … and, Your strength and willingness are always available to help when needed.  To build up trust, I must keep growing our relationship … step out more in faith … do not let worldly distractions get in the way of following You … and, stand on the solid foundation of Your Word and its promises. I know that after I’ve endured a struggle for a time … You will restore me, strengthen me and enable me to persevere.  And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray.  AMEN!!
