Great are You Lord God! For there is none like You nor is there any God but You. You have made Yourself known to me through Your awesome deeds, the scriptures and the small, sweet voice inside of me. You have called me by my name and mapped out a course for my life. I have learned that Your words are spoken in truth and they are meant for my good. You are faithful and honor all of Your promises. You are mighty in battle and have subdued all of Your enemies. That is why I am confident that You will protect me and keep evil from my door. Every day I strive to show You my thankfulness for all of the things that You do or give to me. When I think of the lofty position You left in Heaven … to come to earth as a humble man to save me … I rejoice at being the beneficiary of such a gift. In Your kindness and forgiveness, I find the strength to resist evil and persevere through hard times.
I am honored that You have endowed me with rights and privileges I do not feel I deserve. You have comforted me with Your love and I know that You care for me. My days are filled with peace as I keep my focus on You and not my problems. You have given me an everlasting inheritance and You expect me to use it wisely. I hunger to know more about You and Your ways. I am open to instruction and I gladly welcome correction. I am confident in the fact that Your mercy endures forever and Your promises never disappoint. You have chosen this time in history to call me to life and my goal is to live it for You. I may sometimes stumble along life’s path, but I know You will steer me back onto the right path so I can recover and do good. I believe with all my heart that, whenever I need You, I can call out and You will hear my cry and will come quickly to my aid.
You have always interacted with Your creation to maintain order and balance, sustain life and oversee it with loving compassion. Everything that You created is good and meant for worthwhile purposes. I am a part of that creation and I cherish the role You’ve asked me to play. I sense Your presence in my daily life and that gives me confidence in my difficult times and hope to get me through them. Create in me, O Lord, a man in Your image … possessing a servant’s heart. Help me begin each day excited to see what You will do for me and what I can do for You. My desire is to be a devoted follower who is loyal to You in all things. I want to cooperate with the leading of the Holy Spirit so I can overcome the challenges I will face. Make Your words come alive in me so that I can be trained in shunning evil. Help me see that those around me are “family” and need my love and attention. I bask in the wonder of being a part of Your creation and I will endeavor to make You proud of me. And it’s in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN!!
